Ahhh... another day in Paradise.
We are eating lunch, and Zach announces "I need to go poo." Yes dear, I reply.
Then I hear "Hey Lady!" (I gave birth to this child, and my rank is 'lady'??")
I start to clean up his little tushy, and he upgrades my status- "Your a booty wiper!"
And I think- Yes... Yes I am a Booty Wiper. Have been for 4 years now, and I should include that on any future resumes if I ever have the energy to apply for a job.
Some people might be insulted by such a comment- but I am going to choose to wear it like a badge of honor.
Here is my thoughts for today:
I started this website to keep our family updated with pictures and stories that would help them feel closer to the boys. I also opened Pandora's box- because I gave an outsider total access to what happens inside- everyday.
Some days, there are just nothing interesting that goes on. And some days, I hold on by a thread. I certainly don't try to spin things to appear like I am Mrs. Polly-Anna Sunshine. I guess this sometimes comes off that I am complaining- which I really don't intend to do.
Oh, don't get me wrong- there are days I would complain to the mailman if I thought it would help me get a hot shower, and someone to do the laundry.
The great thing that happened was that I noticed that this blog was a fabulous way to journal about every day things, that I otherwise would forget about. I certainly hope to work on my scrapbook for the boys- but until then- this is the best I can do. And the byproduct, is that it gives whomever chooses to check on us the opportunity to watch our family grow.
Even the growing pains- because I don't think you can really share your story otherwise.
I have said this before, and I will say it again from the top of a mountain.
"MOTHERHOOD IS NOT FOR WIMPS!"
There are days that the only sense of accomplishment I get is by measuring the number of loads I washed. Or that I actually got a shower, and mopped the floor.
You see, when you go to work... and work your butt off all day- you have something to show for it. A sense of accomplishment- perhaps it's a paycheck, or a task completed, or a pat on the back from your boss. When you stay home, the gratification doesn't come so easy. The kids never seem to be grateful to have clean clothes, or a clean floor to spill on. (Although they do seem happy Mom doesn't stink anymore!)
So with the evolving blog, I discovered one more thing. I get to brag, share, laugh- and yes, complain about all that is motherhood. The payback is that I get advice, and encouragement from other people. The drawback is that I don't always get positive feedback. Some people come to this website for entertainment- and that's okay with me. The only promise I can make you is that you will always get something real- and that's my story:
My life as a Mother and a Woman trying to find her way.
So in advance, I apologize if it seems that I am in any way shape or form ungrateful to be a Mom to my two little Angels. Anyone who knows me, knows that I live, eat, breathe all that these boys offer me. If you only know me through the blog, please understand that there has never been a day that I haven't thanked God for the life I have.
So go out there, find a woman who strives to be a good Mom, and pat her on the back!
Even if it's for being a good 'Booty Wiper'....
LOL ! YOU CRACK ME UP!!! I love to read your blog, because you KEEP IT REAL! Thanks for sharing your life with us.. WE LOVE YOU "boogie head" ... you like that one too??? LOL!
